According to the latest reports, it appears that the Toyota officials in Tokyo are considering “some kind of measure” that may include the recall of 270,000 vehicles worldwide involving eight of its Toyota and Lexus models.
Toyota will announce the final decision after the government regulators will determine if a recall is necessary for eight models, including the high-end Lexus LS460 and Toyota Crown sedans. U.S. safety regulators were not yet alerted by Toyota for a possible engine stalling while driving. The models involved are powered by 4.6-liter and 3.6-liter engines, a Toyota spokeswoman in Tokyo said, and some of these cars might have a problem with the valve spring in their engines that may cause idling trouble that could lead to engine failure.
